Actor Alec Baldwin Offers to Stop Impersonating Donald Trump if Trump Releases his Tax Returns

Posted on December 14, 2016

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you are aware that President-Elect Trump has steadfastly refused to release his tax returns, bucking a 40-year trend of Presidents and Presidential candidates that have released their tax returns to the public.

Trump has continuously claimed that he is not allowed to release his tax returns as a result of a routine IRS audit, a statement that is simply not true.  Anybody, including Donald Trump, is free to release their tax returns to the public at any time without repercussions from the IRS.

During a recent 60 Minutes interview, he reiterated that he will release his tax returns “at the appropriate time” but did not say when that will occur.

If you are a fan of the television show Saturday Night Live, you have seen Alec Baldwin do his impersonation of Donald Trump.  After a recent SNL skit when Baldwin impersonated Donald Trump, Trump tweeted “Just tried watching Saturday Night Live-unwatchable!  Totally biased, not funny and the Baldwin impersonation just can’t get any worse.  Sad”.

In response, Alec Baldwin tweeted “Release your tax returns and I’ll stop.  Ha”.  One of the funniest things about the SNL skit and the Baldwin impersonation of Trump was that the subject of the skit was Trump’s frequent tweets.  Trump actually sent the tweet before the show ended.  What do you think about Trump’s continuous refusal to release his tax returns and his frequent tweeting?
