Do You Believe in a Strong IRS or a Weak IRS?

Posted on August 14, 2014

On July 16, 2014, The House approved an appropriations bill that slashes more than $1.1 billion from the IRS’ budget, specifically in enforcement and operations.

Both The White House and the IRS has previously warned that a budget reduction in this amount will hurt the IRS’ services and collection efforts.

Although many of our clients do not particularly like the IRS, we feel that a weaker IRS hurts everybody.

First, the services that the IRS provides to taxpayers, already in a terrible state, would be further worsened.  Further, the amount the IRS would collect from taxpayers will also significantly drop.

Like it or not, taxes are the cost of freedom in these great United States.  What do you think?
