Hops for Humanity Surpasses $100,000 with Latest Donation

Hops for Humanity recently donated $10,000 to the Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry.

Elmhurst tax attorney Patrick T. Sheehan is excited to announce the charity he founded three years ago, Hops for Humanity, has now donated over $100,000 to local worthy charities.

Hops for Humanity recently donated $10,000 to the Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry for the charitable distribution of food for the relief of hunger to residents in Elmhurst and the surrounding communities. The donation takes the Hops’ grand total to over $104,000!

What makes this latest donation even more exciting is that for every $1 donated to the Food Pantry, the organization can purchase $8 worth of groceries. That makes a total $80,000 to help the local needy population.

The idea behind Hops for Humanity is simple. We gather quarterly to raise money for greater Chicagoland charities while enjoying delicious craft beer from local breweries. At each event, committed Hops members submit eligible local charities, and everybody who attends can vote to help choose the winner. The money raised at each event is donated to the charity selected by the group that evening. Anybody can become a member of Hops for Humanity.

Hops for Humanity July 2017 Event

The Summer 2017 event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 17 at Shoeless Joe’s Ale House & Grille, 1480 West Lake St., Addison, with beer provided by Scorched Earth Brewing Co. Founded by Michael and Jennifer Dallas, Scorched Earth uses only local ingredients and old world brewing techniques.

Registration for the July 17, 2017, Hops for Humanity will be open soon, and may be completed on the Hops for Humanity website.
