The inaugural event of Hops for Humanity was a whopping success. The charter members got together and raised $11,000 for this event’s charitable cause, Family Shelter Service.
Family Shelter Service transforms lives by offering help and hope to those affected by domestic violence. They provide hotline services, shelter services, counseling, support services for adults and children.
Hops for Humanity’s concept is simple: Four times per year, the members of Hops for Humanity are invited to an event at a local restaurant or brewery. Each member donates $100 to attend each event. At every event three charities are presented to the membership, who then vote for one of the three charities, and that charity will shortly receive the money that was donated to Hops for Humanity that evening.
The inaugural event was hosted at The Snuggery Elmhurst. Schamberger Brothers, Inc. donated beer from the Tighthead Brewery. Dir, the owner and brewmaster of Tighthead joined the event to tell us about his beers. Thank you to The Snuggery, Schamberger Brothers and Tighthead Brewery. If you haven’t tried Tighthead beer yet, you can pick some up locally at Doti Liquors!
