IRS Budget Increased, IRS Enforcement to Increase

Posted on July 10, 2020

President Trump has requested $12 Billion dollars in funding for the IRS in Fiscal year 2020, an increase of $500 Million dollars over last year’s budget.  $300 Million of this amount will continue the IRS’ modernization efforts, including funding to implement the Taxpayer First Act and a third year of the Integrated Business Systems Modernizations plan.  More importantly, the increase will also be used to fund enhanced collection efforts by the IRS to collect unpaid liability from individuals and businesses.  Last fall, the IRS began hiring a large number of new Revenue Officers.  Revenue Officers are specifically tasked with collecting money from taxpayers and taking enforced collection action, such as serving bank levies, wage garnishment and seizure of assets.  The IRS can take your stuff by force!

If you owe money to the IRS, the IRS will soon be after you.  Don’t wait until the IRS knocks on your door.  Give us a call at IRS Trouble Solvers today!
