After the IRS admitted to targeting Tea Party affiliated organizations seeing non-profit status, Lois Lerner says she used a personal email account labeled “Lois Home” for official IRS business. This raises many questions about federal record requirements and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has requested that Lerner hand over all documents on personal email accounts. Lerner was brought to court to testify in May where she exercised her fifth amendment rights. She has since been on paid leave and is required to provide all necessary documents by August 29th. Additionally, acting commissioner Daniel Wurfel has failed to provide any requested documentation related to the investigation.
