Taxpayers may encounter difficulty in getting their questions answered from the IRS this year as the new tax law passed in December 2017 is fully implemented.
According to a post on the Wolters and Klewer Tax and Accounting Blog, the IRS is limiting the types of questions it will answer on its Taxpayer Assistances phone line and in its Taxpayer Assistance Centers. In fact, the IRS will answer no questions about the new tax law, according to the report.
