Should Federal Employees be Fired if they Owe Money to the IRS?

Posted on August 02, 2012

On July 31 the House approved a bill that would allow the government to fire any federal employee that owes about $10,000.00 or more to the IRS. About 100,000 federal employees owe over ONE BILLION dollars to the IRS. The bill allows the government to fire or not hire anybody with a federal tax lien. The IRS typically files a tax lien if the debt is $10,000.00 or more. What do you think?
