The Government Shutdown Buys You Time to Get Your Taxes in Order

Posted on October 17, 2013

The government shutdown is on. If you are one of the 12 million taxpayers that filed for an automatic extension last spring and unsure if you’ll get your return due soon, we can’t help you. However, if you are one that owes money to the IRS, you just bought yourself some time.

With all the negative effects of this shutdown including national parks being closed, websites of government agencies turned off and the many ripple effects to those that support or service Federal workers around the nation, there is little talk of much besides the negative effects of the Government Shutdown.

However there is a light for those that are behind on their taxes. With the IRS suspending all audits and not sending out levies and liens, this is a perfect time for you to get your ducks in a row and let us help represent you and negotiate a fair settlement on your taxes.

The IRS has put a hold on audits, so if you are in the process of an audit, been notified that you will be audited or just fear that you could be audited, the Government Shutdown just bought you some time to get things together and prepare.

Let us represent you and respond to your notice of intent to levy wages, notice of a bank levy, notice to seize assets.

We always say, “Call us before the IRS calls you” and now is definitely the time.
